preparing for use installing the charger
1 Attachthechargertothewallasshowninthefigure.(Fig.2) Ifyouattachthechargertothewall,thespacebetweenthescrewholes has to be 12cm. Youcanalsoplacethechargeronahorizontalsurface(e.g.atable ordesk)(Fig.3). Windexcessmainscordaroundthereelinthebackofthecharger andpassthecordthroughtheslot(Fig.4). Charging the appliance Chargetheapplianceforatleast16hoursbeforeyouuseitforthefirst time. 1 Makesuretheapplianceisswitchedoff. Puttheadapterinthewallsocket. Placethevacuumcleaneronthecharger(Fig.5). Makesureyouplacetheopeninginthebackofthevacuumcleaner on the hook of the charger (Fig. 6). , Thecharginglightgoesontoindicatethattheappliance ischarging(Fig.7). Stopsuckingupliquidwhentheliquidlevelinsidethedust compartmenthasreachedthemaximumindication. 5 Emptyanddrythedustcompartmenteachtimeyouhaveusedthe appliancetosuckupaliquid. Cleaning Alwaysremovetheadapterfromthewallsocketbeforeyoucleanthe charger. 1 Whenyouhaveusedtheappliancetosuckupliquid(FC6142only), alwaysemptyanddrythedustcompartmentafteruse. Emptying and cleaning the dust compartment (FC6144/ FC6140)
Makesureyouemptyandcleanthedustcompartmentregularly. Quick cleaning Toemptythedustcompartmentquickly: 1 Pressthenozzlereleasebutton(1)andtakethedetachablenozzle offtheappliance(2)(Fig.11). Shakethecontentsofthedustcompartmentoutintoa dustbin(Fig.12). thorough cleaning 1 Holdtheapplianceoveradustbin,pressthedustcompartment releasebutton(1)andremovethedustcompartment(2)(Fig.13). Removethefilterunitfromthedustcompartment(Fig.14). Emptythedustcompartmentbyshakingitwithyourfree hand(Fig.15). Ifnecessary,cleanthedustcompartmentwithadampcloth. 5 Ifnecessary,cleanthefilterunit.Seesection`Cleaningthefilterunit (FC6144/FC6140)'. 6 Toreattachthedustcompartment,aligntheslotonthedust compartmentwiththeprojectionontheappliance.Firstattachthe bottomofthedustcompartment(1)andthenpushthetopofthe dustcompartmenttowardstheappliance(2)untilitlocksinto place(`click')(Fig.16).
